Freyr Energy names Rohit Sharma as brand ambassador, launches rooftop solar campaign

Hyderabad, Sept 30 (UNI) Freyr Energy, a residential rooftop solar company, on Wednesday announced cricketer Rohit Sharma as its first brand ambassador and launched a nationwide campaign, ‘Solar Ho, Toh Freyr Ho!’.
The campaign aims to highlight the long-term nature of rooftop solar investments and the importance of choosing a reliable service provider for installation and maintenance.
In a release, the company said it had installed more than 20,000 solar systems across over 40 cities in India. Its initiatives include a customer app, self-cleaning solar systems and solar experience centres.
The campaign launch comes amid the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, under which eligible households can receive government subsidies of up to Rs 78,000 for rooftop solar installations. Financing options are also available to help reduce the upfront cost.
Saurabh Marda, co-founder and managing director of Freyr Energy, said Sharma's record of consistency in cricket made him a suitable choice for the company's first brand ambassador.
Radhika Choudary, co-founder and director of Freyr Energy, said the campaign emphasised the importance of selecting a company that could support customers throughout the life of their solar systems.
Sharma said environmental protection was important to him and that rooftop solar offered families an opportunity to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
He said he was pleased to be associated with the campaign to encourage more households to adopt solar energy.
Rajan Mahalingam, marketing head of Freyr Energy, said the campaign aimed to make the company a preferred choice for households considering rooftop solar.
The campaign will feature a series of advertisements and films beginning September 30. Sharma is exclusively managed by RISE Worldwide.

Mumbai, Sep 30 (UNI) The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT), which is one among the Tata Trusts headed by Chairman Noel Tata, is in the process of filing a caveat with the Charity Commissioner of Maharashtra’s office after a complaint by trustee Venu Srinivasan, sources said.
The development comes after trustee Venu Srinivasan filed a complaint with the Charity Commissioner on Tuesday, alleging “illegal and irregular appointment of perpetual trustees and serious governance lapses” at the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT).
